Chancery Court is a court of equity that hears such matters as contract disputes,
real estate matters, conservatorships, guardianships, adoptions, probates, workers
compensation, divorces, debt collection, and name changes.

- Administers the docket, calendar, and permanent records
- Sells real and personal property
- Collects dilinquent property taxes and conducts delinquent tax sales
- Deposits and remits judgement funds pursuant to the court order
- Calculates and collects court costs
- Holds funds in trust and disburses them as ordered
- Opens new cases
- Keeps rule and execution dockets
- Maintains the court files and records
- Provides support to the Chancellor during hearings on matters brought before the Court.
The Honorable Larry B. Stanley Jr. serves as Chancellor for the Thirty-First Judicial District,
which includes both Warren and Van Buren Counties.
The Clerk and Master is appointed by the Chancellor for a six (6) year term. The current
